We have noted on several occasions that memory loss in aging is often associated with depression, loneliness and isolation.  Now, research at the Sam and Rose Stein Institute for Research on Aging at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine reveals that one way of improving the symptoms of depression in seniors is the use of “exergames.”  Exergames are entertaining video games that merge exercise and game play. The research found that using exergames considerably improved the mood and mental health quality of life in older adults with depression.
